BALI INSIDER RETREAT - JUNE 7TH - 13TH
Yoga • Holistic Wellbeing • Real Bali
If you want to experience the real, soulful Bali — not the tourist version — come with someone who lived it.
I moved to Bali in 1992 and spent 12 unforgettable years raising my half-Indonesian children, building a business in the local community, and becoming woven into the culture. Bali isn’t just a destination for me — it’s home in my bones.
This retreat is your invitation into that deeper Bali: the one you only find through someone who knows the language, the rhythms, the people, and the heart of this island..
When I arrived in Bali in the early 90s, there were no yoga retreats, no wellness cafes, no Instagram moments — just raw beauty, deep spirituality, and a culture that shaped me forever.
Decades later, I’ve taught for over 35 years and hosted 10 retreats — and now I’m bringing everything I’ve lived, loved, and learned into this one transformative week.
Join me for a retreat that blends soulful yoga, nourishing meals (vegan and non-vegan), cultural depth, and spacious wellbeing.
You’ll deepen your practice, reconnect with yourself, and experience Bali through the eyes of someone who once called it home.
The Bali Experience
TThe Bali Insider Retreat with Amber is your chance to deepen your yoga practice and experience the true spiritual heart of Bali — guided by someone who lived here, raised a family here, and knows the island beyond the surface level.
Each day includes soulful yoga, breathwork, and evening meditation designed to calm your nervous system and bring you back into yourself. You’ll also have the chance to explore key elements of yoga — pranayama (breath), asana (movement), and meditation — in a way that’s accessible, gentle, and personal to you.
Amber’s 35 years of teaching experience means you’re not just “doing yoga.”
You’re being guided, supported, and seen.
You can ask questions, receive personalised feedback, and discover how to adapt your practice to suit your body, yourstage of life, and your lifestyle.
But this retreat is so much more than physical practice.
It’s an invitation to reconnect with yourself, your intuition, and the energy of this remarkable island. Through guided meditation, mindful movement, and the unique cultural depth that Bali offers, you’ll soften into clarity, compassion, and a deeper sense of presence.
Whether you’re new to yoga or have been practicing for years, the Bali Insider Retreat gives you the space to nourish your body, calm your mind, and connect with a beautiful community of like-minded women — all in a breathtaking, nurturing environment.
Join us for this deeply restorative experience… and let Bali work its magic, the way it once worked mine.
ACCOMMODATION - YOUR PRIVATE SANCTUARY IN THE HEART OF BALI
Nestled just ten minutes north of Ubud, tucked away in a quiet village where life still moves to the rhythm of the rice fields, you’ll find our hidden retreat—a boutique paradise where time seems to stretch and soften.
This isn’t a crowded hotel or a tourist resort. It’s a sanctuary of just sixteen beautifully crafted villas, each one offering panoramic views of endless green rice terraces that spill out like silk under the Bali sky. Every villa comes with its own private pool, a sun-drenched day bed, and plenty of space for you to retreat, reflect, and simply breathe.
Wake each morning to the soft golden light rising over the fields, and begin your day with a rejuvenating yoga practice in our stunning open-air shala, where the horizon feels like it belongs to you alone.
Throughout your stay, you'll be nourished with chef-prepared meals bursting with the vibrant flavors of Bali, and you'll have access to world-class spa treatments designed to help you unravel tension, recharge your body, and deeply reconnect with yourself.
This is more than a retreat—it’s an invitation to slip behind the veil of busy life and into something richer, slower, and profoundly beautiful.

Three Lessons from My Yoga Retreat in Bali-
Where do I start, as I learn so much when I'm away and teaching?
Gratitude -
Gratitude is a buzzword on social media, but in Bali, it's a lived experience. The Balinese people express their gratitude through daily rituals and offerings to the gods, known as canang sari. These offerings, placed everywhere from homes to motorbikes, symbolize gratitude, peace, and abundance. The intricate preparation of canang sari involves a community effort, often led by women. This practice embodies self-sacrifice, thankfulness, and meticulous attention to detail, reflecting the deep-seated values of the Balinese culture.
Conclusion: Gratitude is best expressed through consistent, meaningful rituals rather than mere words.
2. Bali is the perfect place for a Yoga Retreat
Bali is an extraordinary setting for a yoga retreat, offering a serene and spiritual environment that enhances the practice of yoga. The island's lush landscapes, tranquil beaches, and vibrant culture create a backdrop of peace and inspiration. The Balinese people’s devotion to their spiritual practices and their warm, welcoming nature add a unique depth to the retreat experience. The local traditions, like daily offerings and temple ceremonies, immerse participants in a culture of mindfulness and gratitude, enriching their journey. Bali's natural beauty and cultural richness make it an ideal place for reflection, growth, and deepening one's yoga practice.
Conclusion: Holding a yoga retreat in Bali not only provides a stunning physical environment but also immerses participants in a spiritually enriching experience. The island’s unique blend of natural beauty and cultural depth creates the perfect atmosphere for profound personal and collective transformation.
3. The power of daily practice
The retreat reinforced the value of daily practice. Initially, participants were anxious about doing 3-4 hours of yoga daily for a week. The first few days were challenging, but by day seven, everyone, regardless of age or ability, experienced a transformation. The key is consistency, not the length of practice. This daily ritual of practice led to noticeable growth and ease by the end of the retreat.
Looking Ahead: I’m excited to share these lessons and more at the next Bali Retreat in 2024
