The Body Doesn’t Lie
What you’ve buried isn’t gone — it’s just been waiting. There’s a reason you get emotional in a forward bend.
It’s not weird. It’s not dramatic. It’s just what happens when the body finally gets a chance to speak.
We spend so much of our lives in our heads — fixing, doing, pushing, managing — that we forget the body is holding the score. Holding our stress, our past, the moments we pushed down because we didn’t have the space or the time to feel them properly.
That tight jaw. The stiff hips. The short fuse.
They’re not just by-products of a busy life — they’re signs that something needs to move.
Yoga and breathwork give us that opening. That pause. That chance to drop out of the mind and into the body, where truth lives.
And sometimes, the truth is uncomfortable. Sometimes, you find yourself folding forward and suddenly there's a lump in your throat or tears in your eyes. That's not a breakdown — it's a breakthrough.
These releases are something to honour, not overanalyse.
You don’t need to dig into the why.
Feel it.
Acknowledge it.
Say thank you for the insight.
And move on.
Because staying stuck in your head? That’s the real block. The body is wiser than we give it credit for — but it needs us to actually listen.
Midlife has a funny way of waking us up.
The tension, the tiredness, the “why am I like this?” moments — they’re not signs that something’s wrong. They’re invitations to shift. To stop living from the neck up and come back home to the body. If this landed for you, don’t let it drift past.
Move.
Stretch.
Breathe.
See what’s waiting for you. And if life feels a bit wobbly right now, maybe try seeing it as an opening — not an obstacle.
Have a beautiful rest of your week and weekend.
